The Zadis Project

Hello everyone! Happy Birthday to me! It is my Birthday today and I wanted to create and have fun with some Lawn Fawn stamps. 😀 I had a wicked migraine yesterday, but watercoloring really helped sooth it and now I have this cutey card to show you all!

The Card

The Details

I used only stash items for the layout of this card. Some sparkly purple cardstock was die cut on the Big Shot (boy it has been awhile since that Big Boy has been used!). I then used my EK Success 1” punch for the circle behind the green monster (he is so my fav!) and then a regular ol’ single hole punch for the smaller dots. I think it came out looking pretty good. 😀

I found a strip of black cardstock, so I dry embossed the strip again using the Big Shot (don’t think it has seen this much action like – ever!). 🙂 I mussed up the edges of the black strip with some white chalk edger. I like how it highlights the raised bit on the edge. I just don’t have a light enough hand though to get the chalk on all the raised bumps without screwing the whole thing up.

Image Details

For this card I used one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets - Monster Mash! They are the cutest monsters ever and I've loved every card I've made with them.

The monsters were colored up with Zig Clean Color Real Brushes. I went for a variety of colors, working on my technique more than anything. I think the Zig’s are wonderful, but they really made coloring up the monsters quick work! The images are just big enough that I can concentrate on technique, without spending hours on it.

Most glossy accents on the eyes add some nice texture. I know people have talked about buying the quilling glue nib and using that with Glossy Accents, but for me I went another route (and much cheaper!). I bought two 10ml e-cigarette fillers. The bottles are exactly like the quilling bottle – nice, sharp metal tip and all, but with only being 10mls I find it much more manageable. Plus, these things were seriously cheap – pennies I tell you! I found them on a swedish website, but google around maybe you can find some cheap ones near you too!

Challenges I would like to enter

Embossing @ Lawnscaping Challenges
You got some dry embossing doing on here. I couldn’t find my supplies (#movingproblems) inorder to emboss the monsters themselves, but if I had found it they would be totally be embossed – chunky style even. 😉

Touchy Feely Challenge @ Darking Cardmakers
Lots of texture in this card! The dot embossing folder is one source, the purple sparkle cardstock has a really weird and interestingly smooth texture and then glossy accents! I found lace afterwards, but I would totally have included that one too!
