The Zadis Project

Good day to all my friends out there in blogland. I have a super cute card for you today, continuing my month-long theme of mermaids. 🙂

Whilst I was perusing my Make It Crafty digital stamp folder I came across this gorgeous mermaid from The Greeting Farm (wrongly filed!). I just couldn't help myself, I had to color her up and make a card!

The Card

The Greeting Farm mermaid card

The colored papers are actually Winter Wonderland from Lori Whitlock. Winter, what? Yup, the wave patterns of both just seemed so perfect for a mermaid. Plus, the colors were perfect!

I added a bit of black and clear washi tape for some high contrast. That also goes well with the black sentiment, which is from Thank You Mae clear stamp set from Some Odd Girl (unfortunately she is retired).

Some background stamps stamped in Distress Inks add some dirtiness and interest to the mermaid card.

Skin: E00, E11, E13, E15, R20
Hair: R81, R83, R85, R89
Tail/Shell: V12, V04, V06, V09, R81, R83
Starfishes:  YR21, YR23, Y28

While I have this image in my own files, I have not been able to find it on The Greeting Farm website, so I'm thinking it has been discontinued. Fear not though, there are some other amazing mermaid digital and clear stamps!

The image is colored with my Copic Markers, using untraditional colors for her hair. I used the same pink, as well as my violets to color her tail. That is to continue on with not only  my mermaid theme, but also working on my blending. When blending two colors that are so different you can achieve an infinite amount of looks!

Challenge I would like to enter

Truth be told, I made the card for a challenge. 🙂 It has been so long and I'm in a groove right now so I got to roll with it as long as the LO allows.

I've definitely noticed that the style of my cards has changed since being back in "the zone". 🙂 I like it! The amount of white space adds a great amount of contrast with the bright colors I tend to use. The style also frees up a whole lot of time AND it uses up my current stash!

If you follow me on Twitter or my Facebook Page then you will notice a lot of random posts lately. I've been fiddling around with IFTTT (If That Then This), which automates a lot of processes. I'm wanting to get things automated/super easy for me to maintain as my time is mostly full of the baby. 🙂 Albeit send a greeting any time you want!
