I can't begin to go over how wonderful I think this page came out. The saying is perfect for me. The page is completely inspired by Kate Crane @ The Kathryn Wheel. Her art journals are AMAZING! I love how she puts things together - little things, like the fact the image is standing a strip of paper, which grounds the image. Little circles that don't detract from the other elements. All of these I just adore, I did not, however, want to take away from the saying. The saying is something that I personally need to work on, ergo it has the most importance on the page.
I had just bought some new supplies to try some new techniques used by most art journalists. I bought a wonderful 6x6 template called "Circle Explosion" designed by Balzer Designs. I love her stuff too, she has sooo many great templates! I also got the 6x6 "Chicken Wire - Reversed" template. Both are released from The Crafters Worksop, and let me tell you have about 4 more that are now on my wishlist! I really liked using the templates for different effects.
What I didn't like, that I tried was Dylusions Ink Sprays. I loved the color of the London Blue, just don't like the application through the stencils. I'm going to try using the spray to start my background, maybe I'll like that application of it, who knows. I love the fact that I can try so many different techniques with different products and find ones that I love, like the chicken wire stencil or Neocolor II crayons. It is a great journey that I hope to be able to maintain after my life actually...well starts.
