Good morning friends! I'm here on this lovely Thursday to share with you a special little fairy creation for this fortnight's Little Miss Muffet Challenge - If you go down to the woods today. The challenge is all about bears and fairies, you know, those special little woodland creatures running about. 🙂
To create this bright and woody card I printed several papers and elements from Story Teller Digital Scapbooking Kit from Persnickity Prints. The wood coupled with the brights really made for a nice contrast to the darker Farfalla Sprite.
I wanted a little more woody feel so out came the ARC Wood Veneer tape, which I folded and ran across the card in a meandering fashion. After I placed Farfalla, I realized that the meandering didn't translate very well - it just looks crooked. Haha
To make the card extra special I employed my 3D Paper Piecing technique, which I have now found out the real name for the technique - Paper Tole. I printed Farfalla out four times, coloring each section with my copic markers and then fussy cut (very close) to the section and popped it up using 3D foam tape (in black!). The look and feel really make this outstanding!
Copic Marker Choices
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E13, R20
Hair: N3, N6, N8
Blues: B04, B05, B97
Greens: YG93, YG95, YG97
Reds: R83, R85, R89
Oranges: YR20, YR02, YR07, YR23
Yellows: Y13, Y15, Y17, Y26
Blacks: C3, C5, C7, C9
Farfalla means butterfly and I really wanted a darker colored wings to contrast with the bright paper and employ more of the rich jewel tones that the paper had. I just love how much contrast I was able to get, the black is light and dark in the right places and each section really feels rich and lovely.
