Good morning, good morning! You know how they say time flies? Well, seriously I think I got in a time machine and jumped a few days because here we are already at Thursday! 😀
I wanted to create something with one of the special release images and to send out another post about CART for Cassandra. Every child should be afforded the means in order to succeed in the classroom. Something so simple as a tablet that lets a deaf child see what is spoken in class, so that she doesn't miss anything is, in my humble opinion, a MUST. Well..you can read more about it over on the LMMS blog and why not send Cassandra a card to cheer her up! 😀
For my card today I used one of my fav collections, Jr Hatters! She is one of the newest and loveliest....Jr Hatter Vironda!
I wanted a pretty clean and simple card here, so that I could have fun coloring up Vironda. First, I enlarged her so that only her upper half was on the card. I then used my Silhouette cameo to cut a square with a dotted line (which is actually a cut in the cardstock).
My good friend Anice from FunkyHand is closing down her shop so I wanted to make sure to use some of the papers that I have. I'm excited for her future, but I'll be sad to see FunkyHand go. One of my first downloads (this is before the VAT changes) from FH was I Love You Sew backing papers, and so I used my fav of that - a nice, textured red and pink chevron paper. There is still a couple days left before the store is closed, so hop over there and see if you can't find anything.
Oh, so the sentiment came in a craft magazine, but for the life of me I can't find it! It just came out in the UK and the freebie had all these gorgeous sentiment stamps! You'll be seeing more of them in the future for sure. 😉

I just love the little cat ears! I wanted to make it look like they are her ears popping out of the hat, instead of a cat hat, so I used the same colors as her skin. 😀
After Sandy Allnock's post about different skin colors I had to think about my own cards. I really do use the same lighter shades over and over, not because they are more like my own skin, but because it creates the strongest contrast, plus I use my mid-E numbers for everything! Still, her point is that there are so many people out there so why not color up different skin tones more. And well...that is what I did. 😀 I do have to admit though that I had to go back through on her skin with some pencils, something was just not right. Still, love that look and the fact that pencils saved the image!
** Can you tell I've missed blogging? LOL I can't stop the writing. 😉 **

Just a few more words about CART for Cassandra:
This event is to raise awareness and to spread the word. You can read more about her story HERE and sign the petition HERE. For each signature we receive, the school administrators receive an email regarding our request.
And as I said, it would be great if we sent some words of encouragement:
