The HolODDay Card

Oh my word, aren’t the gingerbread people from Gingerbread Kaylee Clear Stamp just the cutest? I paired them with the tree from Build a Snowman Clear Stamp – seriously LOVE this tree! I colored everything with Polychromos pencils on Neenah Desert Sand cardstock.

The card is made up of two layers of white cardstock, cut out to be snowy hills. What you don’t see are the little bling bling sparkles of my Wink of Stella on the white cardstock. 🙂

The Presents!

Be sure to leave a comment at each blog for a chance to win a special prize, $25 gift certificate with some extra winners of $5 that we’ll announce on Saturday Dec 17, but everyone can get 25% off in the shop with the code HOLODDDAY! Some Odd Girl Movie Monday recap on a Wednesday

Hey hey everyone! I wanted to do a little recap on my own blog of a fab Some Odd Girl Movie Monday that was up on the inspiration blog this week. I’m so happy over how this project turned out using the Build a Snowman Clear Stamp Set.

3D Tree Ornament

So here is the end result, a magical 3D ornament with a little 3D paper piecing of one clear stamp! Make sure you hop over to the Some Odd Girl Movie Monday post or our YouTube channel to take a look on how I put this project together.

Here’s another view!

Matilda Celebrates with Make it Crafty

Hey all! I’m over on the Make it Crafty blog again today with a gorgeous new make using Matilda Celebrates! These new Make it Crafty images are just fantastic!

I had a heck of a time coloring up this beauty, so if you hop over to the blog post you will see some tricks that I pull out when things just aren’t going to plan. 🙂 Very rarely can I not salvage a colored image or card using these tricks so they are good to keep in the back of your mind.

Batty Baxter and the MIC Galaxy

Hello friends. I was up on the Make it Crafty blog yesterday with this lovely card, so today it is here for you all to see. It is a lovely card using the Batty Baxter digital stamp, Scribble Star Chipboard Frame and “Believe” chipboard word. I just love the chippies!

Batty Baxter Card

I created the galaxy, which is my latest obsession, using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. It was so easy! At first I was suspect to how it would turn out, but dang it came out amazing, if I don’t say so myself. The white stars are droplets of white paint.

The Scribble Circle Stars Frame is painted a silvery metallic. I think it gives a nice backdrop to Batty Baxter. To finish it off I colored up the chippy “Believe” in cordinating copic colors and then slathered it with Wink of Stella. 😀

Purples: V04, V06, V09
Chipboard “Believe”: V06, V09, B28, B99

And here is a closeup of the  “Believe” chipboard. I really love these chipboard words from Make it Crafty. They add some wonderful dimension to the card and are a great deal pricewise!

A Razi Fall Card

Hello my friends. I’m over on the Make it Crafty Blog again this week with a cute, fall card using the lovely Razi Petal Sprite and Autumn Wooden Fence stamps.

Razi is such a cute image, albeit not a fall image. 🙂 That is why I took a plunge and went sepia on this card, plus I added the awesome Autumn Wooden Fence and Maple Leaf Chipboard Set! Seriously LOVE the chippies!

My layout is a bit chaotic, but so is fall! I cut out four right triangles out of a fun fall paper collection called The Fox (digital) by Meredith Cardall. Lots of Distress Inky goodness between Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain went on top, as well as some glitter gel to add some bling!

E31, E33, E35, E37, E40, E41, E43

Wanna take a close look at the Maple Leaves? The new chippies are Copic friendly, which means I got to color them up with my Copics and create a sweet ombre effect! I also went over them with my Wink of Stella in clear to add some bling. 😀

Bridgette in Love with Make it Crafty

Happy November to you all! Am I the only one that as we head in to the colder months I tend to want to craft more? 😀 Maybe it is something about being surrounded by lovely, shiny things while it is so grey outside. I’m super lucky though that for the next two months I will be a Guest Designer for Make it Crafty, which means more craft time!

How awesome is that?!? When I started on my Copic journey four years ago Zoe’s e-books taught me the foundation of how to use them. It took the e-books, YouTube videos and lots of color-a-longs from Some Odd Girl to get me where I am today. It really has been a great journey, so I am very honored to be a part of the Design Team for two whole months. 😀

Without further ado here is my first inspiration piece. I’m loving it!

Bridgette in Love Card

I’ve been obsessing over the awesome backgrounds the Make it Crafty gals have been sharing on Instagram, so I thought I would try my hand at the novice version of it. 😀 Some Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Crushed Concord, Broken China, Faded Jeans and Black Soot were my weapons of choice.  It has been awhile since I’ve played with the inks so my blending took a bit to get decent enough. I’ll be trying this again and again so I’ll hone those blending skills. 😉

Of course the background is only the back drop for the image, Bridgette in Love. She is a gorgeous gal, with long locks and a wicked awesome sweater.

Here are my Copic Marker colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R22, R20
Hair: E31, E33, E35Eyes: Y13, Y26, Y28, E59
Sweater: V01, V04, V06, V09, R81, R83, R85, R89
Hat: B95, B97, B99

I love this color combo – not so much “fall”, but more a beautiful cold, winter night color palette. 🙂

Well, I’ll be up on the Make it Crafty blog every Wednesday for the next 8 weeks, so make sure to check me out there and leave some love!

A Haunting with Beehive Mae

One last Halloween card for the season, and the last of the Oddtober challenges at Some Odd Girl. The theme is all about using your stamps in an ODD way, such as using Beehive Mae for a Halloween card. 😉

Beehive Mae Card

From her green skin to the cataract eyes, Beehive Mae is still a ghoulish delight to color. The layout is a simple one, but I really like the assymetry of it. The different patterns of the paper get a little viewing, but still Beehive Mae is the focus. When using square card bases it start to feel a little boring with everything behind square, so the off-center placement really adds a little bit of umph.

Hair: BV20, BV23, BV25
Sweater: V01, V04, V06

You have one more day to play along with the ODDtober challenges, the winners will be announced on November 5th. Each challenge will have its own winner, so totally worth playing along with all the them! 😀

Pumpkin Tia and the Great SOG Halloween Hop

Ding Dong!

Welcome to our annual Trick or Treat with the Odd Girls!

Our hop this week is full of spooktacular Halloween Tricks and Treats. Don’t worry, our tricks won’t be too scary! AND, just like trick or treating for candy, you don’t want to skip any houses…or blogs in this case! Every stop along the way will have (crafty) goodies for you but you won’t get the treats you must be a good trick or treater and stop at every house and leave your comment. You can Trick or Treat with us thru midnight EDT on October 31, winners will be announced back here on Nov 2.

Halloween is my favorite holiday ever! Not only because of the awesome amount of free candy. 😉 But also the decorations and festivities are just so much fun. For my project today I decided to create a little Halloween decoration for my craft room using the super cute Pumpkin Tia.

Image: Pumpkin Tia
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04
Hair: V01, V04, V06, V09
Eyes: Y15, E55, E57
Dress: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, YG11, YG03, YG06
Pumpkin: YG93, YG97, YG99, Y13, Y15, Y17, YR02, YR07, E33, E35
Pencils: Cadmium Orange 115, Pale Geranium Lake  121, Walnut Brown 177

A bit of 3D magic going on on the side. Pumpkin Tia is 3D Paper Pieced with a solid layer of black foam behind. She is attached to a 3D pumpkin, from the Silhouette Studio Store (love that place!).

The 3D pumpkin is something that can easily stand by itself – or hung! Either way it makes for a great decoration.

Here is our hop order for you after you leave the comfort of my porch…
Tabbatha <— You are here!

Wondering what our treats are?

Well, of course we’ll be doing a coupon code for 31% off at the shop throughout the hop, TRICKORTREAT.

Then from those of you who comment on every stop we’ll be giving away 3, $20 GCs to the shop. Awesome, right? Make sure to stop in our community, I may have another surprise up my sleeve as well.

And there you have it!  Happy Haunting – I mean HOPPING!

A Wave Mae of Some Odd Girl Inspiration

Hey everyone! I was on the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday with this beauty, Wave Mae. So I wanted to make sure to share it with you all.

The Fall Inspired Card

The card was heavily influenced by a color palette I found on Pinterest, but you can read more about that on the SOG blog. 🙂 The papers I chose are Lori Whitlock’s Fall Fling. The colors fit the color palette and had a great playful feel to them.

The layout is still sticking with My Favorite Things Stitched Basic Edges. I have never used my Big Shot as much as I have since getting these dies. I lurv them!

Wave Mae Image Details

The image is a wonderful one from Some Odd Girl called Wave Mae. She is a really good all-around image, perfect for any time of the year really. I just wanted to color up her polka dots and the color palette really inspired me so it worked out well in the end.

As October is coming to a close, there are only a couple more Halloween makes to share with you. 🙂 Next month you’ll also see a bit more posting, which I’m super super excited about. Stay tuned and stay stress-free!

Black and White Demure

Good afternoon on this fine crisp October Thursday. 🙂 Some Odd Girl is continuing our ODDtober challenges today with a sweet one – Black and White.

Since it is October, the season of ghouls and macabre, I thought to create an old Black and White portrait for this challenge. Think back to all those horror movies with the black and white portraits on the wall watching you. 😉 To accomplish this I picked the wonderful Demure. Her look was exactly what I was looking for.

Black and White Demure

The design is pretty simple. I didn’t want the black paper to be so flat, so I create two panels by tearing a middle panel diagonally across the paper. Some Lawn Fawn slit border action and I was satisfied.

As much as I love black and white, this needed a pop of color, which it got with the use of flat-backed wine red pearls. It almost looks like drop of blood, no? 🙂

ODDtober has been a blast so far and only 10 more days left! I’m looking forward to our fabulous Halloween Blog Hop, I hope you are too!
