So very special On Safari baby card

Hello! As promised (a couple weeks back!) I have the finished card using On Safari from Some Odd Girl. This card was for a family friend’s grandchild’s baptismal. The kind of thing that you want an extra special card for, so I dusted off the Silhouette Cameo & got to work.

Some Odd Girl baby card

On Safari is a great stamp set for baby cards. In fact I was gifted a card from the Odd Girl herself with this very same elephant. 🙂 Of course, cute animal stamps can be used for many other occasions as well.

The true magic of this card is when it is fully opened. Up pops four panels to greet the receiver! The Silhouette Studio file had “baby” in the panels, but I wanted to personalize it even more with the LO’s name.

With a keepsake like this, I think the LO is off to a great start!

Be A Unicorn Planner Week

Happy Thursday everyone! I am here Mid-ish week to share my latest spread in my pocket planner! I’m using the ever so adorable Be A Unicorn clear stamp set from The Greeting Farm. I just can’t get over how cute these stamps are and how perfect they fit even in the small pocket size.

I stamped the unicorn on sticker paper using Simon Says Stamp Premium Dye Ink Pad SLATE Gray. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the image stamped on sticker paper. After I put Copic to paper I was even more surprised & ecstatic. Now I can print my digis & stamp on the sticker paper to get some Copic love in my planner!

Here is a little preview of what is to come next week. You might recognize it from my Instagram. I posted it last night after I had finished the project. 🙂

A Magical Unicorn from Bugaboo

Hello & good day to you, my friends. I have another card using a digital stamp from Bugaboo Stamps to show you today.

Unicorn card using Bugaboo Stamps

While I was browsing through Bugaboo store for a golf image for this card, I ran across this adorable Unicorn Digital Stamp. It accidentally fell into my basket & I felt it just rude not to go through with the purchase. 😉

I printed out the image three times on Neenah Desert Sand paper, so that I could create a 3D paper pieced image. I love this style of crafting, it adds such dimension to a card, while allowing me to keep the overall design simple.

A 60th Bugaboo Stamps Birthday

Long time no see!

It really has been quite awhile since I’ve created anything, let alone posted it up on the blog. If you subscribe to my RSS, you won’t see the change to the blog, but I have a new web host & a new look. A new logo is in the works as well. 😉 As of right now the blog is quite sparse, some of your old links might not work anymore as some posts are missing. Well…they aren’t missing per se, but the images are & so I un-published them for the time being. I’m working hard on getting all the images uploaded & a new gallery as well.

It feels good to be back in the crafting world again.

I have taken a long sabbatical from coloring & card making but the itch has me again. Now that the LO is in daycare & I’m back to work I NEED my creative outlet. Plus, I have felt bad not having a stash of birthday cards for family, which leads us today’s card.

I posted this already on my Facebook page, but now you get the full deets.

The Card

A 60th Birthday card

Per a request from the MIL, I quickly colored up Gus from Bugaboo Stamps & made this card for a family friend who turned 60. The sentiment is just hilarious!

Pop it Up in March

Heya friends! I’m here again with a new creation. It is for the March Challenge up on Some Odd Girl.

I finally got to coloring up one of the new Hipster Cats from January! This is Coffee Cat, who is just adorable.

Continuing with my flat themed cards, this one is popped up in order to fit the March Challenge. 🙂 Still, I had a lot of fun coming up with what to do, and what paper to use!

February Some Odd Girl Release Review

Hey everyone! One new thing that we are doing at Some Odd Girl is our Some Odd Girl Release Review, where at the end of every month we get to look back on the projects made with that month’s new digis. 🙂 It is a great idea & I love it.

Here you have two of my own projects, one being new and the other is from the Valentine’s Hop.

My new creation is using the awesome new SOG character, Dakota. This is one tough cookie! Even with that being said, she still knows how to take it easy and just be.

Copic Markers used:
Skin: E11, E13, E15, E19
Hair: C3, B28, C5, C7
Shirt: R81, R83
Pants: C3, C5, C7

I’m sticking with my flat cards, but have switched over to an A6 size. This is a bit easier for me to print out images for a next-to-full sized card base. I love concentrating on just coloring the images and accenting with a patterned paper and border. 🙂

A little refresher from the V-day’s hop – Swoon Dakota! She is just a fabulous, versatile character and I can’t wait to see more of her.

There were quite a number of new images in February, so make sure to stop by the Blog for our Some Odd Girl Release Review to see examples from the Design Team! Or…you could just hop over to the store and pick yourself up some NEW digis!

Tea pot friendship has its perks

Hey everyone! I was up on the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday with our February Challenge reminder. I created this little sequin studded card using Tea Pot digi stamp!

I’m a fan of all coffee/tea related and since having Miss E, I finally understand the NEED for the brown stuff, so when Kristy made up Tea Pot I was thrilled! It also let me try to get my metal coloring on – this is a hard technique I tell ya.

Copics used:
R24, R27, R29, R59, R89
C1, C3, C5, C7, C9

While I didn’t use too many Copics I felt that extra R59 in the reds made a huge difference on that Tea Pot. I was lucky enough that my need-to-be-replaced Cool Greys actually added a bit the effect I was after on the stainless steel.

I LOVE shaker cards! They are just so much fun and create a super-flat card, which keeps the postage down. 😀 It doesn’t hurt that I love sequins, and for our Feb Challenge I even whipped out some red heart shaped sequins and even a pearl heart!

For those who love challenges, Some Odd Girl has brought back our challenges to the Some Odd Girl Blog. They are now monthly long challenges with the theme “Anything ODD Goes”. There will be a twist to each challenge though, so keep an eye out. I’m sure you figured out this month’s. 😉

Fairy Bear on Kraft

Hello, hello! I’m over on the Make it Crafty blog again this Wednesday featuring a card with the cutie Fairy Bear!

Fairy Bear Card

I worked some magic with Copics and some kraft cardstock. Usually I leave the pencils for kraft, but I wanted to get some Copic coloring done so challenged myself a bit. The biggest difference between the white and kraft is that the kraft is more fibrous and thus soaks up the copics differently. Once you have that in mind, you can begin working!

My Copic Color Choices:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R22
Hair: E55, E57, E59
Sweater: R24, R27, R29, R59, R89, G05, G16, G17
Pants: BV20, BV23, BV25
Wings: B00, B02
Bear: E31, E33, E35, E37, Y13, Y17, Y28

I found myself using an extra light hand while coloring Fairy Bear on kraft, which is good! I have a heavy hand so the kraft helped me to lighten up. I’m almost out of kraft cardstock, but until then I think I’ll continue practicing. 😉

I also tried a different approach on coloring the light natural chipboard pieces. I used my White Wink of Stella, which I have to admit I don’t use often at all. I wasn’t sure if the chipboard pieces would actually show the white, but against the kraft they still pop – and have a little bling to them. 😀

Some Odd Girl Movie Monday recap on a Wednesday

Hey hey everyone! I wanted to do a little recap on my own blog of a fab Some Odd Girl Movie Monday that was up on the inspiration blog this week. I’m so happy over how this project turned out using the Build a Snowman Clear Stamp Set.

3D Tree Ornament

So here is the end result, a magical 3D ornament with a little 3D paper piecing of one clear stamp! Make sure you hop over to the Some Odd Girl Movie Monday post or our YouTube channel to take a look on how I put this project together.

Here’s another view!
